Abby Beck, Event Chair, Batavia Environmental Commission
Abby grew up in Batavia and understands the strengths and challenges of living in the Fox Valley. Abby has a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from UNLV and wants to use that knowledge to help citizens of Batavia to learn how to live more sustainably. She is a part of the Spiritual Green Connection and is the newest Member of the Batavia Environmental Commission (BEC). She lives in Batavia with her husband and two children.
Carolyn Burnham, Batavia Environmental Commission
Carolyn is a Photo and Media Organizer with Burnham Creative Group located in Batavia where she helps people turn piles of photos, slides, videos and other media into memories they can enjoy and share. She is also a Member of the Batavia Environmental Commission (BEC). She also organizes Green Night Out at the Movies for the BEC. Carolyn also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) – Chicago.
Robin Soderquist, Batavia Park District
Robin works for the Batavia Park District as a recreation supervisor leading day trips and organizing adult and senior citizens programs.
Robin has fantastic organizational skills and is a great resource for understanding what Batavia and the Fox Valley in general have to offer.
Katie is a LEED Green Associate and has been doing graphics, marketing & social media for small businesses in the Geneva area since 2011. She is currently the marketing coordinator for the Round Lake Area Park District. Born and raised in the tri-cities area, Katie grew up walking along the river, biking the trails, and enjoying the many great parks the area has to offer. Since a young age, she appreciated and took advantage of all the free, amazing things Mother Nature has to offer. Hobbies include photography, music, and getting outside whenever she can!
Jamie Saam, Executive Director, Batavia MainStreet
Jamie took the position of Executive Director of Batavia MainStreet in 2015. MainStreet, a not-for-profit organization, was founded to enhance and redevelop Batavia’s downtown district through dedicated volunteer efforts. Before that Jamie an Alderman for the City of Batavia, served on the Board of Directors of Batavia MainStreet, was the founder of the Artisan Collective and has and is involved in numerous community organization.
